A MUNICH LOVE STORY — FRIEDENSENGEL, A RED VESPA AND EVENING LIGHT
Munich has a side that is easy to miss. Away from the centre, along the Isar and up toward the Friedensengel, the city opens up. Wide stone, old lanterns, trees that catch the last of the evening light. It is the kind of place that makes you slow down.
Anne and Alfredo brought a red Vespa, and from that moment the session had its own character. We moved through the area as the light dropped, from the steps of the Friedensengel down along the riverside, and let the city set the scene. No direction that needed much explaining. The Vespa, the stone, the shadows, the evening doing what it does in Munich in the right season.
Part of the session was photographed on analog film, and the soft movement and grain of 35mm suited the mood of the evening well.
